Claims Manager – Winnsboro, TX

Team Worldwide has a career opportunity open for a Claims Manager at our corporate office located in Winnsboro, TX.  The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5-7 years of experience processing freight or cargo claims on damaged or lost shipments.

Position Overview and Responsibilities

  • Supervise and oversee claims and Claims department employees
  • Investigate and process claims on domestic, international, and ocean shipments; this includes processing incoming high value requests
  • Develop and maintain strong claims prevention programs with outside carriers and Team Branch Offices
  • Serve as a member of the Claims Committee
  • Maintain accurate records and efficient filing procedures to ensure information is readily available for weekly Claims Committee meetings
  • Review monthly insurance reports and request checks from ACC
  • Serve as main point of contact with the insurance provider (including rate negotiations) and for insurance certificates

Reporting Structure

This position reports to the Director of Corporate Services.

 Qualifications and Requirements

  • High school diploma required; college education preferred but not required
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with Team or other equivalent work experience
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite and various computer programs
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines

Physical Requirements

  • Sitting at a computer for prolonged periods of time
  • Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds

Corporate Services – Winnsboro, TX

Overview

Team Worldwide Corporate Office in Winnsboro, TX continuously strives to find talent to add to our business-critical departments such as Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Recaps, and Communications. The ideal candidates we are looking for have the ability to thrive in a high-paced environment and can work with a sense of urgency and accuracy. These corporate service employees will be responsible for carrying out the daily administrative duties of one of the following departments.

 Accounts Receivable (ARD)

  • Maintain customer accounts and work with appropriate branch offices to resolve any payment or collections issues
  • Develop and maintain relationships with branch offices and their customers
  • Monitor and set up incoming customer account requests
  • Answer phone calls and address any collections or receivables-related questions
  • Be available to assist other Collections and Receivables Clerks as needed

Accounts Payable (PAY)

  • Process vendor payments, timely and accurately
  • Provide follow up correspondence and resolution on pending payable items
  • Ensure that vendor payment count is maintained at a sufficient level
  • File applicable reports and invoices in appropriate locations
  • Provide support to others in the department as needed

Recaps (RCP)

  • Audit incoming recaps and backup paperwork
  • Work with branch offices to resolve recap discrepancies
  • Develop and maintain relationships with branch offices and their customers
  • Process recaps in a timely manner, while adhering to various deadlines
  • Assist others in the department as needed

 Communications (COMM)

  • Answer incoming customer service phone calls and respond to questions about existing shipments
  • Monitor shipments in the shipment pickup dashboard
  • Provide updates to branch offices and customers on shipment status and information regarding the shipment
  • Rating/Pricing
  • Data entry
  • On-call duty as trained and assigned
  • Occasional morning or night shifts assigned as necessary to support department needs

  • Ability to switch between tasks efficiently
  • Knowledge of basic computer functions and software (i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel)

  • Occasional lifting up to 15 pounds
